Dream it 〰️ Believe it 〰️ Do it 〰️

After many years of supervision, training and work as a licensed family therapist, I founded The Danish Solution Focused Institute in 2016. I was accredited by the International Alliance of Solution Focused Teaching Institutes (IASTI) and created a three-year training program as a Solution Focused Master Practitioner. The first students as Master Practitioners graduated in June 2019, and since then, I have held face2face and online classes every year.

Scroll down the page and find a course or workshop you are curious about, - most of them can be organized online.

At the bottom of the page you will find a list of my publications and more about my new book that will be published in July 2024.

I travel several times a year in Europe and who knows, may be in a city near you, so don't hesitate to get in touch.

Warmly Anne-Marie

Introducing the Solution Focused approach

can be ordered online or face2face

Solution Focused practice is an approach to engaging people in conversation about the changes they want to se happen in life. The approach is based on more than 35 years of clinical practice, research and theory development. The focus is on the client's desired future as well as the strengths and resources that, on the one hand, can explain success in the past and, on the other hand, can be useful for creating changes in the future.

Two basic assumptions are that the client has thoughts and ideas about what is good for him in the future, and elements of this future are already existing. Out of these ideas arise a number of techniques that are related to Solution Focused conversations and which are presented in the introductory course.

Clients have their unique way of creating solutions through detailed descriptions of their desired future, previous successes, resources and strengths.

COntent:

Review of Solution Focused assumptions and how they unfold in practice. Introduction to conversations, elements and techniques, and in a way where you can experiment with this in your practice. The training alternates between presentations, films and exercises, online in breakout rooms. The days are concrete and "hands-on", thus you go home with inspiration to implement in your own practice.

During the days, you will be introduced to different (creative) ways to also consider the child's carers, and we will discuss various solution-focused methods such as "The 3 Houses" and "Kids Skills" as well as how you can work solution-focused with the child and his network based on e.g. "People in my Life".

These are concrete and creative days where your own 'inner child' is revisited to better understand and be able to engage with children, and where we immerse ourselves in the importance of seeing children as subjects rather than objects.

The course consists of FIVE traning days split into two teaching periods over 1-2 months. Homework and literature reading are also added, so the course has a total scope of 40 hours. The learning design is built on a close link between theory and practice, which is ensured by integrating exercises and own films of solution-focused work with families to the training days.

COntent:

Modul 1 consists of two introductory days in solution-focused theory and method as well as the basic assumptions and how they manifest in relation to parents and children. The days will deal with themes such as: the co-constructive dialogue, the structure of the conversation, how to get started and keeping momentum, working with multiple goals/wishes for change, tools to involve children and parents in the conversation, different forms of conversation (context clarification) - and lots of other things.

The form is an interaction between presentations, exercises, films etc.

Modul 2 starts with a follow-up and retention day where we focus on what you have succeeded in and what needs to be repeated? We add new layers to practice, experiment with conversations with several people, watch films and talk about both challenges and successes.

The next days off the workshop the participants should focus on their own practice. The days are built around own films of conversations, i.e. how you implemented the learning and how its shown in practice. The design is structured so that everyone works with their own clips as well as those of others, which ensures optimal progression and a course of high professional quality.

Knitting therapy/needlework for stress, anxiety & depression

After "9/11" proffesionals were surprised that there was one group of relatives in particular that was not seen in the anonymous counseling services. They were women in their mid-50s and older. It showed that they were sitting and knitting. Today, we know through research that needlework or handcrafting such as knitting, crocheting and embroidering makes a difference. It has physical and psychological positive effects, including increased calmness and concentration. This theme is 'hands-on', an engaging workshop where everyone gets to use their heads and hands.
